Orchestar: Turning Color into Sound

Orchestar logo

In addition to the LightSound project, I am also involved in developing the Orchestar, another sonification device that sonifies color rather than light brightness. This device is useful for teaching the relationship betwee light wavelengths and color, as well as the temperature-energy-color relationship.

Space Drafts: Tucson's Astronomy on Tap

Space Drafts logo

I am a co-organzier for Space Drafts, the Tucson, Arizona edition of Astronomy on Tap, an international network of public astronomy talks in bars and pubs.

Our shows are on the third Tuesday of every month and typically feature local astronomers from Steward Observatory, the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, and the NSF National Optical-Infrared Astronomy Research Laboratory (NOIRLab).

Find us on Facebook, Twitter (@SpaceDrafts), and Youtube (where we stream our shows), or get in touch with us at or email us at aottucson [at] gmail [dot] com!
